Frequently Asked Questions

Are we accepting New Patients?

Yes! Dr. Giancoulas and Dr. Smith are both accepting new patients at this time. We recommend you call or email the clinic ahead of time to secure a date and time for the initial intake process.

What is your new patient procedure?

Upon entering the clinic you will be asked to fill out intake paperwork. The doctor will then ask you a series of questions to get some more information about your pain. Next a physical examination will be conducted. At the end of the examination the doctor will provide you with a treatment plan. Please allow 60-90 minutes for the first visit.

What types of health insurance do you accept?

We direct bill for most major health insurance companies such as Manulife, Sunlife, BlueCross, Canada Life, Green Shield, and many more. Please bring your health insurance card to the first appointment. We are unable to bill under OHIP, therefore you do not need to bring your health card to the appointment.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, you do not need a referral to book an appointment at MOVE chiropractic.

What is the popping sound I hear during an adjustment?

Sometimes during spinal or extremity manipulation you may hear a "popping" or "cracking" sound. This is known as a cavitation. It is caused by gas (Nitrogen) being releasing from the joint.

What is the best method for sending images?

Dr. Smith offers primary and secondary reads of muskuloskeltal X-ray, MRI and CT images in DICOM format only. Images can be sent digitally, mailed to the clinic or physically brought to the clinic. Please note JPEG and screenshots will not be accepted. Contact Dr. Smith for further details.
